Digital Nomad Visa for Spain
Spain offers a specific route for people who work remotely for companies or clients outside Spain. It can be applied for from your home country or, if you are already legally in Spain, from here. We study your case, build the file and follow it to the decision.
What it is
The international teleworking route lets non-EU nationals live in Spain while working remotely, either as employees of foreign companies or as freelancers whose clients are mainly outside Spain. It can be requested as a visa at a Spanish consulate, or as a residence authorisation from inside Spain through the large companies unit (UGE) if you are in Spain legally.
The requirements are specific and the authorities check them closely: the type of relationship with your employer or clients, how long it has existed, your qualifications or experience, your income, health insurance and criminal record.

Documents usually needed
- Valid passport.
- Contract or letter from your employer, or contracts with your clients, showing remote work and how long the relationship has lasted.
- Evidence that the company or your activity has been operating for the required time.
- University degree or proof of professional experience.
- Proof of income above the required threshold, linked to the Spanish minimum wage and updated each year.
- Health insurance valid in Spain.
- Criminal record certificate, legalised or apostilled and translated where required.
Requirements can vary depending on whether you apply from abroad or from Spain, and on how each consulate works. We review your case first and confirm the current figures.

- Document plan. You receive a list tailored to your case, with what needs legalising and translating.
- File preparation. We draft the application and the supporting letters and check every document.
- Filing. We file in Spain through the UGE or prepare the consulate file for you to submit.
- After approval. We help with the TIE card and the padrón when you arrive.
Timeframes
Applications made in Spain to the UGE have a short legal resolution period of a few weeks. Consulate timings vary by country, and gathering legalised documents from abroad often takes longer than the decision itself.
Price
450 € + VAT for the full service, per main applicant. Review and filing of a file you have already prepared: from 250 € + VAT. Each additional family member: 100 € + VAT. Official fees, translations and legalisations are separate. The TIE and padrón after arrival are quoted apart.

Can I have Spanish clients?
Freelancers may have some clients in Spain, but only a limited share of their work. We check your client mix against the current rules.
Can my family come with me?
Yes, your partner and dependent children can usually apply with you, subject to meeting the income requirements for the whole family.
Should I apply from abroad or from Spain?
It depends on your situation. Applying from Spain is only possible if you are here legally. We explain the advantages and risks of each route in the case study.
Will I pay tax in Spain?
If you become tax resident, generally yes. Some holders can opt for a special tax regime. We recommend a tax review before you move.
